Dr. Matthew Callahan 

Dr. Callahan knew from an early age that he wanted to be a Veterinarian.  After graduating from the University of Georgia, he was accepted to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. (Go Dawgs!) 

Once he graduated he worked as a Veterinarian in western Massachusetts and then made the decision to move back to the North Shore, where he grew up, to open his own practice.  Ipswich Animal Hospital was started in 1997 and has been treating patients loyally ever since.

While most days you will find Dr. Callahan behind a stethoscope, when he is not working you will find him behind the lens of a camera.  His favorite subjects are the snowy owls that visit this area each winter.  Next time you stop in at the clinic, enjoy the photos he has taken of the wildlife on the North Shore!
